Singing

Everyday, all the age groups meet together at the beginning of the day to sing and stretch. Later in the day, each group returns to the sanctuary to sing some more. At the end of the day, the closing involves more singing.
Most of the kids enjoy making the hand motions more than singing the songs, but they take pleasure in the time regardless of how they spend it.
Each day, the kids learn a new song to go with the theme of the day.
Today, we learned that we are filled to the top with joy in "The Joy Song." Yesterday, some of the groups did a song about love that has hand motions in American Sign Language. Today, a second verse about the other fruit of the Spirit was added.
The theme song for the week, "Good Fruit," has all of the fruit of the Spirit in it. See if your kids remember how it goes: "Love, joy peace, patience, and kindness; goodness and self-control. Faithfulness and gentleness..."
Another song that we do has the sounds of animals in it. "Moo, moo, moo, I'm a cow. Moo, moo, moo, I'm a cow. God gave me a special job to do. Moo, moo, moo, I'm a cow." There is a verse that says that I am a child of God too.
Each song is fun to sing, easy to learn, and has hand motions that go along.
Singing time is full of energy and music, making it one of the most fun parts of the day.

The kids are like a choir during singing time.
